If you like computers, then listen up: Did you know that you have the opportunity to reduce the total cost of your bachelor’s and master’s degrees while improving your level of job readiness? William Henry Harrison High School offers a program specifically for you. The Early IT Program allows you to complete your first year of college while still in high school. This program not only allows you to finish earlier, but it also costs less.
WHHHS first began the Early Information Technology Program last school year (’22–’23). Mr.Clark, founder of this program, begins by saying, “So, there are 39 students in grades 9–12. My goal eventually is to have at least 10 students a year that complete the program.” You may be wondering, “How do I know if I’d be interested?” Well, Mr. Clark stated, “Realistically, they have to have some sort of IT interest. Some students that are involved are typically interested in video games.”
In order to get automatic admission to the University of Cincinnati, you must complete nine courses with a C or above. These courses consist of Fundamentals of Information Technology, Computer Programming 1, Computer Networking, Fundamentals of Web Development, System Administration, Database Management 1, English Composition, College Algebra or Precalculus, and History/Social Sciences/Fine Art or Intro to Interpersonal Communication.
