Every kid gets excited when they realize they are on the concluding days of the school year. It’s almost 100 degrees and summer is on the brink of beginning…. The season of sunshine, the warm summer breeze, bright green grass, vacations, and boiling hot weather. But how do students at William Henry Harrison High School spend their time during the summer?
Throughout the time of summer, it is common to travel, visit new cities, states, or even countries. 25 out of 40 people that took a “Summer Recap” survey traveled out of Harrison over the summer. The most popular location that WHHHS students traveled to is Florida. Other places that students spent time this past summer include Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Wisconsin, California, Canada, Mexico, and more.
Many people stayed home for the majority of their summer break. Results varied when students were asked what their usual activities at home consisted of. The most common results were reading, scrolling on social media, and sleeping. Others enjoy watching movies, television, and playing video games.
33/40 spent time with their friends during their summer breaks, whether it was at the park, concerts, festivals, or even traveling together.
Some people spent time outdoors, from activities such as gardening, dirt biking, hiking, swimming, and camping.
A great number of people enjoy summer not only for the nice weather, but for the ability to travel and explore, freedom from school, more time to pursue hobbies, reduced stress, etc.
