Have you ever walked into class and had to do a double take because your teacher looks just like a celebrity? You’re not alone! Some of our educators bear an uncanny resemblance to famous faces. From Hollywood icons to pop culture figures, these look-alikes add an extra layer of excitement to our school days.
A “look-alike” is someone who resembles another person, which often leads to jokes and conversations among students. The term “doppelgänger” refers to someone who looks almost identical to someone else, sometimes in a surprising way. While these teachers might not mention their famous twins, students enjoy pointing out the similarities, creating a lighthearted atmosphere in the classroom. Teachers can look like many different types of people, such as actors/actresses, fictional characters, mascots, and more. Some doppelgangers are more accurate and look like spot-on identical twins, while others share only a few similarities.
The Paw Print surveyed the high school student body, and results from the survey showed that our staff tend to resemble actors/actresses more than animated movie or television show characters. Students have said that Larry the Cable Guy, an American actor and comedian, though most known as the voice of Mater from the animated movie series Cars, resembles Health teacher Mr. Andy Banks.
Math teacher Mrs. Melanie Siemer looks strikingly like Amybeth McNulty, the actress who plays Anne in Anne with an E. With her ginger hair and expressive smile, Mrs. Siemer captures the same spirited energy as Anne Shirley.
English teacher Mrs. Stacey Jones has been said to be a look-alike of the mom of Riley from Pixar’s Inside Out. With her warm smile and caring demeanor, she embodies the same nurturing spirit as the animated character. Whether guiding us through lessons or offering support, her resemblance makes her not just our teacher, but a comforting presence in our school.
English teacher Mr. Jon Motsinger has an uncanny resemblance to Dave Bautista, not to mention the fact he’s dressed up as the character Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy for Halloween. Students love to joke about it, bringing an extra layer of fun to the classroom.
Math teacher Mr. Joshua Locke finds it shocking to be compared to Jo Lo Truglio, specifically his role of Charles Boyle from the television show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. With his quirky sense of humor and enthusiastic personality, he channels that same energy that Boyle brings to the screen.
From Mrs. Jones resembling the caring mom from Inside Out to Mr. Motsinger’s surprising resemblance to Dave Bautista, these fun comparisons add a unique charm to our school environment, as we celebrate the personalities that make our teachers so memorable.
