Ignorance is Bliss
Wonderful she, filled to the brim with her questions
The asks that she asks she asks with animation
What, when, who, to where, but how?
The questions she asks need answers right now.
What, who, when, where to, but why?
If she did not learn she was going to cry.
For there was this one question, it burned at her soul
But her parents, they swore that she wished not to know
But she needed an answer, she wanted more
“It doesn’t matter Alice, play like before.”
To think: but to matter, don’t answers matter?
Can’t they take a broken world and glue it together?
She imagined a world where answers were people
Spreading their truths like the wings of an eagle
They would love to dance, have a way with singing
The white song of truth is a lovely lullaby lilting.
In the depth of it’s lyrics all answers exclaim
Where standing is she, what has she to gain
Into the woods began she to go
Toward the answers she imagined just so.
But once she found the answers she sought
Her mind went silent, there wasn’t a thought
The truth was not kind like her imagination
Her face, her heart, her soul lost all animation
To think: but to matter, don’t answers matter?
They can take a whole world and cause it to shatter.
