Congratulations, Catherine Nash and Keagan Lockhart!
Harrison Press Students of the Month

Catherine Nash

Harrison High School proudly selects Catherine Nash as one of this month’s Harrison Press Students of the Month. Catherine is involved in many extracurriculars, including Tennis, Swim, Drama Club, DECA, and Student Council.

In her free time, she is an artist. Catherine has many art accomplishments, but most recently had a design selected for the Rain Barrel Auction at the Cincinnati Zoo. She also has a drawing that was selected regionally to go on to state judging this weekend for the Ohio Governors Show, and as if that weren’t enough, her work will be featured in the 10×10 student art exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Stephanie Cox, co-director and choreographer for Drama Club, says, “From Stephanie Cox: Catherine Nash is a true gem! In just two years of working with her, I’ve seen firsthand her kindness, dedication, and willingness to help in any way she can. She’s always a positive presence, and while I’m sad this is my last year working with her, I know she’ll continue to brighten the lives of those around her.”

Trevor Ward, DECA advisor, says, “Catherine is an excellent student and an unbelievable artist!  Catherine always comes to class with a positive attitude and takes great pride in her work.  It has been a pleasure having Catherine in the Harrison DECA Program!”

Dustin Dershem, DECA advisor, says, “First and foremost, Catherine is an amazing artist! She has done amazing artwork for art class and competitions, but thanks to her great skills she has been my go-to student for making our DECA Wall-of-Fame look incredible in both of our DECA rooms in the high school! She is always courteous, conscientious, and friendly. An all-around top-notch young lady! Proud to have been able to work with her the last few years.”

Thank you, Catherine, for helping to make Harrison High School a great place to be.

Keagan Lockhart, our Harrison Press Student of the Month for March, is going on to represent our school at the highly competitive Air Force Academy next year.
Keagan Lockhart

Harrison High School proudly selects senior Keagan Lockhart as one of this month’s Harrison Press Students of the Month. Keagan was just accepted to the Air Force Academy, one of the hardest schools to get into in the nation. “I plan to make the most of every opportunity presented to me there and hope to graduate and become a pilot in the Air Force,” said Keagan.

Keagan is an amazing student who excels both in and out of the classroom. Keagan is an excellent swimmer scoring 152 points this season and scoring 431 points throughout his swim career. Swim coach Mike Brossart had this to say about Keagan: “Keagan’s strength is that he was willing to do anything for his team and teammates. He always seemed positive and upbeat at practices and meets.”

Swim coach Jessica Peace added this: “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Keagan for 4 years, beginning his freshmen year as a swimmer. As a swim coach, Keagan is a swimmer that you want year after year because he was always willing to put in the work in and out of the pool. Keagan always displayed exemplary sportsmanship: staying in the pool while everyone finished, fist-bumping his competitors after a race, and cheering on teammates.” He was also on the teams who hold the records for the 400 individual medley and 375 free relay events. Outside of Swim, Keagan is involved in Civil Air Patrol, Cross Country, Tennis, Key Club, Honor Society, SkillsUSA, and Robotics.

Out of the pool, Keagan is a great student and person. Peace said this regarding Keagan’s academics: “When it comes to academics, Keagan is a hard worker in my AP Physics C: Mechanics class. Keagan is not afraid to ask questions, take a leadership role during laboratory investigations, and works collaboratively with peers. The United States Air Force Academy is lucky to have him!”

Keagan has a 4.1 GPA and is ranked sixth in the senior class. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors!
