Rylee Huth shared her favorite book, Betting on You by Lynn Painter. This romance novel follows the reunion of two “enemies” Charlie and Bailey. Their paths end up crossing a few years later when they are both working at the same hotel waterpark. Their relationship takes a turn when they make a bet about whether two of their colleagues will fall for each other. This bet sparks a series of events that eventually leads to a fake dating arrangement between Charlie and Bailey in order to disrupt her mom’s relationship. As their fake dating scenario unfolds, the lines between what’s real and what’s fake begin to blur, making them question whether their feelings for each other are genuine or just a result of the bet. This book made the top of Rylee’s list because it encapsulates the magic of teenage love and some of the hardships you can experience with it.

If you’re in the mood for a horror book, Gwynevere Hill has just the book for you. Don’t Let the Forest in by CG Drews tells the story of Andrew, his twin Dove, and their best friend Thomas, as they come back to finish off their senior year in high school. There’s one problem though: Thomas’ abusive parents are missing, and the blood is on him. Gwyn says this is her favorite book because of its character depth, the wonderful writing, and the shocking ending, which she promises not to spoil. “I think I just stared at the wall for a good 30 minutes before being able to move on,” she says. Let’s be real, some books leave you questioning life choices and wonder if you should take up another hobby instead.

Now I know I just wrote about Sunrise on the Reaping, but this book deserves all the hype – and then some. Ella Price is completely hooked, and it’s easy to see why. As Suzanne Collins’ latest edition to The Hunger Games series, it’s just as intense and impossible to put down! Sunrise on the Reaping is set during the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the 2nd Quarter Quell, and provides a deeper look into Haymitch Abernathy’s experience in the arena. This novel flawlessly connects The Hunger Games universe, providing fans with new insight into the events that shaped the future of Panem and its people. Ella also shared that on top of the book being really well written and interesting, it is also such a great connection to the other 4 books – both the original trilogy and the other prequel – which I totally agree with.
