Did you love competing in sports in Junior High? We have great news for you. High school sports are even better!
Why is it better on this side of the baseball field? Lots of reasons, but one of the main ones is the stakes are higher, the pressure greater, and the potential for success much larger. This raising of the bar is seen through the different kind of coaching high school coaches can provide.
Coaches are one of the main differences in the junior school to the high school. They are less lenient in the high school compared to the junior school in the junior school there are more days that you are allowed to do different things than the task that needs to be done. Coaches is one of the main things that make sports and activity’s easier in the junior school compared to the high school. When your younger the coaches go easier on you because of your age and your experience.
Expectation are just higher in high school. When playing a sport in the high school they are more demanding of your sport and expect more of you than they do in the junior school you can’t goof off in the high school or they will yell at you and possibly not let you play your sport.
A freshman athlete said that “in the Junior school, you don’t get as much recognition for your good deeds in your sport by your peers or your fellow students. In high school volleyball is more popular within the school and there are a lot more people who come out to support.”
A Paw Print poll showed that most freshmen student athletes think that junior high sports are easier than they are in the high school, and they don’t recognize your talent as much as the high school coaches/advisors do. One student said that they get more matches/opportunity’s to play their sport and to get recognized by their coaches/advisors.
The poll additionally showed that many kids said that the junior schools sports were easier than the high school. Students also said that the junior high let you goof off more than they let you in the high school. Sports in high school push you to reach your goals. Athletes are pushed until they can’t go any more, and this is what makes us grow. This kind of high expectations builds our high school athletes into the players that they want to be.
