In a surprising mid-season trade, the Bengals acquired veteran quarterback Joe Flacco from the Cleveland Browns. Flacco now takes the lead as the current Bengals QB.
Flacco is now on his seventh team with a 116 and 95 record in the NFL. He also has one Super Bowl under his belt from his time with the Baltimore Ravens.
In my opinion, the Bengals won this trade. Joe Flacco has 561 and 5 touchdown passes with the Bengals and zero interceptions, which is much better than Jake Browning, who had 6 touchdowns to 8 interceptions leading the NFL in interceptions. Until Joe Burrow gets back, Flacco will be a great substitute!
The Bengals made the move as a result of Joe Burrow getting afflicted with grade 3 turf toe. Burrow will be out until mid-December. The Bengals needed a serviceable starter until he got back, and I would say Joe Flacco is doing his job so far; he’s winning games and putting up impressive stats.
Overall, it’s a great trade for the Bengals! And we will see how it goes for the rest of the season.
