You may have noticed some new faces in the halls of William Henry Harrison High School. In addition to new students, we also have several new teachers this year. With several teachers retiring recently, the school hired seven new teachers.
Helena Minasian is the new Biology and Physical Science teacher. Mrs. Minasian was asked what her words to live by were and she replied with the Lao Tzu quote, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Jennifer Gambetta is our new art teacher. She has previous experience of teaching at the Royalmont Academy for the past 10 years.
Next up is Amber Wallace, our new American Sign Language teacher. This is her 13th year in education. Mrs. Wallace’s words to live by are “Kindness and compassion are universal languages. Have courage, be kind, love always.”
Stacey Jones is joining our English department, teaching 9th and 10th grade English and ACT prep. Mrs. Jones attended OSU and graduated from Miami University. She has 12 years of teaching experience and is a graduate of Harrison High School.
Tiffany Delano is our new Intervention Specialist in our special education department; she has taught at White Oak Middle School for the last 10 years. She attended Colerain High School and graduated from the University of Cincinnati!
Replacing Mrs. Charls, Jennifer Abel is teaching Biomedical Sciences as part of Project Lead the Way (PLTW). She has previously taught at Live Oaks for the last 10 years of her 17 years of teaching. Mrs. Abel graduated from the University of Cincinnati. Her words to live by are “Show up, do your job, and be kind to everyone!”
Last but certainly not least, we are welcoming Abigail Russel to the building as a 9th grade Intervention Specialist. She has recently worked as an aid at Diamond Oaks. Her words to live by are “Students may not always remember what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.” With welcoming in all these lovely teachers, we wish everyone an excellent year!
