Hey Wildcats!
My name is Ashlyn Fuhrmann, and I am so excited to be editor-in-chief of The Paw Print for the 2023-2024 school year as we go into its first year of publication.
Every student’s voice matters, especially yours. We are ecstatic to now be up and running with our new newspaper. We cannot wait to bring stories full of fun, important thoughts, and school spirit to you throughout this year. At The Paw Print we hope to inspire others to live a life of writing too and for everyone to have a space for their voice to be heard in our student run newspaper. Journalism is important. Journalism can change lives. Journalism gives everyone the opportunity to be in the loop, express themselves, and discover what they love.
Our paper strives to spotlight student voices within our school, and I can’t wait to inspire others with journalism in the same way that I have been inspired as my love for journalistic writing has only grown over the course of my high school career. Through The Paw Print, I hope to help others find what they may love as a hobby, favorite class, or even career choice: we want you to find something you enjoy through reading an article.
Personally, I have gained a love for journalistic writing over the past two years through my role in our school’s Cappies program, a student theatre review program, and I am so excited to bring my love for writing to a new format with The Paw Print.
I hope to inspire those not currently on our writing staff to join in the coming years and make a new generation of staff writers for our paper. I hope that students can see the impact that The Paw Print has made on our school and want to be a part of our family. I can’t wait to see the next group of journalists join our paper and learn the ropes from our amazing student writers, cementing our paper’s legacy for years to come.
Our world, nation, community, and school would not be the same without you. I can’t wait to see what The Paw Print has in store for this year and many years to come.
