Harrison Drama is putting on a performance of Mary Poppins on November 17th and 18th. Harrison drama is directed by Ms. Purdy, an English teacher at HJS, and Ms. Adams, a chorus teacher at HJS and HHS. The show is being led by Chloe Schwettmann, Matthew Rudolph, Parker Lawhorn, Leah Marx, Sam Motsinger, and Gwynevere Hill. This is the 3rd show Adams and Purdy have directed with Harrison. Mary Poppins, based on the 1964 movie, is a theatrical production written by Cameron Macintosh, a famous musical writer. It toured starting in 2004 and was very successful.
“I’ve loved finding my people through drama and figuring out what I want to do for the rest of my life”, says drama club vice president Ashlyn Fuhrmann. She’s done drama for 7 years and 11 shows with Harrison. She is very optimistic and hopeful for the show and said that the activity is very fun and a good outlet for people to express and be themselves. She stated, “Drama club is a great place to be and gives me the space to be who I truly am and grow as a performer.”
