Everyone has a favorite candy, that one treat that you just can’t resist around this time of year. But have you ever wondered what your favorite candy says about you?
Kit-Kat
The filling between the chocolate and wafer layers is made from crushed, imperfect Kit-Kats, creating a delicious recycling process where one Kit-Kat can contain layers of its predecessors. What eating this candy says about you is that you most likely take long breaks or intentionally do your jobs wrong just because you can.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
During World War II, sugar and chocolate rationing actually boosted the candy’s popularity by forcing the company to focus exclusively on peanut butter cups, as peanut butter was not rationed. What this candy says about you, is that you are a mischievous trendsetter.
Sour Patch Kids
Originally called Mars Men, were shaped like aliens to capitalize on the space craze of the 1970s before being rebranded in 1985 to reflect the popularity of the Cabbage Patch. Eating this candy shows that you have a sweet-and-sour personality. You most likely are difficult or moody, before shifting to a sweeter side.
Snickers Candy Bar
A fun fact about the Snickers bar is that it was named after Frank and Ethel Mar’s favorite horse. The candy bar was launched in 1930, to honor their beloved horse. It was also manufactured in Chicago and sold for five cents a piece.
Hershey
A fun fact about Hershey’s candy bar is it was originally founded by Milton S. Hershey on February 9, 1894. He founded it when he was 19 years old. And now hershey is a brand that makes millions of chocolates everyday. If you eat this candy you are most likely a person that loves camping and making s’mores. You love the roasted marsmhallow with the gooey chocolate.
Reg. M&Ms
Red M&M’s were discontinued from 1976 through 1987, because of public panic surrounding the color’s association with a banned red dye, even though M&M’s didn’t even use said dye. What eating this candy says about you, is you most likely have a bland or beige personality.
Candy Apple Lollipops
The candy to calm your need to eat a candy apple at a pumpkin patch, while leaves are falling perfectly around the pumpkins. Though these are good things, one bad thing is that if you freeze them, they will turn glass hard and could break your teeth. When you get these in your basket, you’re setting them aside and waiting for that craving. If these are your favorites, you have either an extreme sweet tooth or you just love you some candy apple lollipops in your skinny jeans and brown sweater…
Wax Coke Bottles
You might see a different form of these on social media because they’re trending with people making them in molds of Hello Kitty, Labubus, animals, or more simple ones like squares, circles, and the original coke bottle. Fun fact, though the wax isn’t actually edible and your body simply cannot digest it. If this is your favorite candy, you’re probably very easily influenced.
Almond Joys
It’s classic advertising jingle, “Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t.” It was so popular it was featured in a 1977 TV commercial for Almond Joys and Mounds bars. If you eat this candy, it shows that you are sweet at times and nutty and all over the place the next.
Twizzlers
Most commonly known as the red licorice of Halloween. Usually when you get this in your candy basket you set it to the side and it will probably be thrown away by Christmas or Halloween next year unless you’re a party person, you’ll use them as straws for party drinks or fun drinks. If this is your favorite candy, you’re possibly a 5-year-old child or you eat them once you’ve finished a drink because the food low-key sucks and you’re hungry.
Rolos
Usually they come in a 1 pack, but you’ll probably get about 10 of these trick-or-treating. They can be used for many things like Rolo pretzels or most commonly used in wedding cakes in the United Kingdom. If this is your favorite candy you probably love cooking/baking and love fun, flavorful combinations.
Peanut M&Ms
The first variety released in 1954, was only available in one color: tan. The company made them this single color to reflect the roasted peanuts. If you eat this candy this is most likely your personality. You are classic with an unexpected edge.
Butterfingers
Common to see on tv but not many people eat butter fingers. I get them in your basket all the time but they’re the first thing I give away right next to Almond Joys. They were actually recalled one time for the peanut butter turning green which is honestly gross. If this is your favorite you might be one of the aliens from commercials or, you like green peanut butter.
Candy Corn
AKA chicken feed, was made in the 1880’s by George Reninger. It’s the original candy of Halloween, but many think that it’s gross. Most people would disagree because it’s mainly just sugar and dye and who doesn’t like straight sugar and dye. Marshmallows and Candy Corn are made with most of the same ingredients, but marshmallows have much less sugar and much more fluff. If this is your favorite candy, you probably have a strong sweet tooth and love sugar.
Payday
The candy bar was named after the day it was invented. When the Hollywood Candy Company employees were paid. This 1932 creation was marketed during the Great Depression as a hearty meal replacement bar due to its dense peanut and caramel coating. What this candy says about you is you are most likely working in a garage/ a mechanic, or you are a retired 50- to 60-year-old man, and a little nutty at times.
Laffy Taffy
Coming from Chicago, is one of the most familiar candies in the U.S. since the 1970’s. It’s basically a taffy version of Airheads, some people have complained of certain flavors smelling like Play-Doh. These are very common to get trick-or-treating but you’re probably not going to eat them. If this is your favorite candy you are probably an old soul and always carry the little strawberry candies in your purse or pocket.
Dots
They are commonly referred to as the “indestructible candy” because they simply don’t melt no matter what. I haven’t seen many at stores or being passed out at Halloween as much as I did when I was younger, but I still see them every now and again. If this is your favorite candy you probably don’t care about flavor and more the texture because these have no flavor at all.
Tootsie Rolls
During the Korean War, U.S. Marines famously used tootsie rolls to patch fuel lines on their trucks, enabling them to escape an ambush. This happened after a code name mix-up results in airdrop of candy instead of ammunition. You are patient and disciplined, and you like to prove your willpower. You probably have a secret stash of better candy hidden somewhere else.
Three Musketeers
The better version of Milky Ways, but stranger. The filling is whipped egg whites. Sounds gross, but it also makes me feel healthy while eating them. If this is your favorite candy, you are very strong and you love the gym for some reason.
At the end of the day, your favorite candy says way more about you than any personality test ever could!
