Every year when Christmas comes around, I notice that everything goes from being spooky and dark, to bright and colorful. The closer and closer we got to Christmas and December I kept seeing more and more houses light up. Even though people decorate their houses every year for Christmas it is still so cool to see the different Christmas lights every year and watch everyone’s houses light up!
Christmas lights come in so many different colors, sizes, and styles. Some people chose to keep their house simple with simple colors, but others like to go all out with decorating their house, like using green, red, and blue and many other colors and putting blow ups outside of their house. Some people even use those projectors that put moving snowflakes all around their house. People come up with so many fun and different themes that they decorate their house. Some go for more plain and simple decorations and others go all out with very colorful and bright lights, you just have to choose what theme you are going for this year for your house!
There are some companies that come and decorate your house for you! Although that can get very expensive and the prices can range all the way from $430- $900, according to Holiday Lighting, a company in Ohio. That can get very expensive, and it’s definitely not as cheap as buying your own decorations, even though that can get super expensive also. But if you are injured, or don’t have much help to decorate your house, companies like theirs can help out. Many people don’t want to get up on a ladder to put lights on their roof, and some people don’t even have a ladder or even don’t feel safe being up that high. Another difficult part about holiday decorating is that decorations can get heavy sometimes. So if you are unable to carry heavy things, then paying a company to decorate for you may be something to consider. Many people want to fit in with all the bright and colorful houses around them! Another amazing thing about Christmas lights is it can bring people together. Families and groups of friends or even sometimes couples walk or drive through neighborhoods and see all of the Christmas lights, sometimes whole neighborhoods go by the same theme of decorations. Some people decorate their house with a bunch of Christmas lights and make it a walk through, with paths surrounded by Christmas lights and seeing all of the different ways that they set up the lights and some people even make sculptures out of the lights. Christmas lights are such a big part of the holiday because it makes everything feel even brighter and happier.
Christmas lights aren’t just decorations, they can make so many memories, make everyone happier, and they just remind everyone how fun the holiday season is! It is so refreshing to look out your window and see houses decorated all colorful and bright! That’s why so many people, including me, look forward to seeing all the Christmas lights and decorations when November/December comes around!
