Going out to eat is one of America’s favorite things to do. Getting together with family and friends to stuff your face with some of your favorite foods. Two of my favorite restaurants are Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn Steakhouse, but which is better?
The first steak house I visited was Texas Roadhouse. Based on first impressions it wasn’t too bad; the floor was a little worn down but other than that it was pretty clean – at least from what I could see with the dim lighting restaurants use to help hide the filthiness. The front desk people were very friendly and got us in ASAP – which was surprising as there was supposed to be a 30-minute wait.
Texas Roadhouse has the best rolls in the nation. Not only are the rolls warm and soft, but they also have the best cinnamon butter I’ve ever had. To make it better, the whole time we were there, they kept asking if we wanted more rolls because they know how addicting they are.
And there we were, on our way to Longhorn to see if they can top Texas Roadhouse and unfortunately, they didn’t. The bread did have that nice crunch with a soft inside, but the bread-and-butter didn’t have much of a flavor. We also only got one loaf of bread the whole time we were there.
I ordered the same thing from both places which is a 12oz ribeye cooked at rare with a side of fries. At Texas Roadhouse, based on the presentation of the food, I will give it a solid 7/10. The food was delicious, and cooked to perfection, but my steak was a little more than rare it was more of a medium. Next up we have Longhorn; this one was definitely a letdown in my books. The presentation of the food was poor. I asked for a rare-cooked steak but ended up chewing on my steak like a dog toy. But both places broke even when it came to the fries. Both served up a delicious plate of thick steak fries, and I can’t even complain.
All in all, I’d give the definite edge to Texas Roadhouse. Next time you go to a steakhouse, you should make the right choice and go to Texas Roadhouse.
