Have you ever been the new kid in school? When you go to a new school, there are hardships that you might face like not knowing anybody or getting adjusted to a new schedule.
I interviewed my friend that transferred to a new school when he went from middle school to high school this is how he explained his first day “My first day of school was really fun, we got to meet all of the teachers and make some new friends. We had a big assembly at the end of the day where we played a bunch of games.”
So, the first day can be hard but most of the problems come from what you have to leave behind.
Most of the problems that come from moving to a new school involve having to leave all your friends behind and adjusting to new schedules. “The hardest part about moving to a new school was that I was leaving 3 of my best friends. I also had to make a bunch of new friends.”
Upon arriving at a new school, find a way to get involved! “I would say the most important thing to do when moving to a new school would be to get involved early and join a club or a sport, so you meet a lot of new people and have friends on the first day, it makes it a lot easier. More ways to make sure you have a better first day are to transfer with people you already know.
A little or a lot can change when you move to a new school. For my friend, a LOT changed. “So, my old school was a public school with both girls and boys, and now I go to a private Catholic school high school with only boys, and we get to learn about the Catholic religion.”
No matter what happens when you move to a new school, in the end, you will always meet new friends. Give it a shot and you can find your people.
