Welcome back Wildcats!
My name is Casey Bertsch and I am this year’s new Editor-in-Chief. Our previous founding Editor-in-Chief is in a better place now*, so I’ve taken her role as Editor-in-Chief. In the previous years, I was our News Editor and Managing Editor. But I am excited to take on the new role!
This is our third year as a student newspaper and we’ve evolved in our writing so much since our first year. We’ve written about topics ranging from school spirit to NBA trades and the 2024 election to the Grammy’s. In our second year, we’ve started to publish photo galleries, a new playlist every week, and even movie and TV show reviews. I can’t wait to see what this year brings for the Paw Print!
This year, we’ve replaced our Fiction section with a general Entertainment section for all things pop culture related. We’ll publish our album, movie, and TV show reviews here along with all kinds of other fun articles. We will also still continue to publish fictional stories in that section as well.
It’s very important for the student body to have a voice, and the Paw Print is that voice. Our paper gives you, the student, a chance to speak your mind about any topic or interest you might have. Sometimes, it may feel like you never have a voice in your school. But with our school paper, you can write about your passions and your interests. We hope that you find something you love in this paper, whether it be in an article, a playlist, or a photo gallery. And if you don’t, send me a message and I’ll pitch your idea for you.
I can’t wait to see our staff evolve their writing throughout the year, including my own. I hope this year is just as good as the previous years and I can’t wait to see where the Paw Print is when I graduate.
We are incredibly excited for another phenomenal year of publication and cannot wait to see the amazing articles that come out of it.
